Points to be noted for visa interview (By Visa Officer in seminar at USEFI)

There must be good reason/s for coming back after completion of education
to convince visa officer (214-B).

A student must show source of all the expenses for the first year of
study (Do NOT consider campus jobs).

Visa officer will check I-20 & correspondence letters of the your
University, but take all documents from all Universities you have applied
including accept/reject letters, I-20s.

Officer will check you English proficiency with TOEFL score or how you talk
during your interview.

Officer may check your academic marksheets/cetificates.

Officer will see your GRE score sheet.

Officer will check that you are not using F1 visa as a means to enter in US.

Officer will always ask you about your area of study
(Try to talk more on this subject, because this will ensure that you are
serious about study only).

The percentage of visa accepted has reduced from 64% to 56% in last year
because of fraud or fake documents.

Scholarship/waiver or any kind of assiststantship will always work in
favor of you.

Any (close) family member can act as your sponsor.

Be relax during interview. Each officer knows that students get nervous
while the interview.

Be prepared for questions like-Why this university only? Why you want to
study at US only?

Prepare your folders & documents nicely & remember that which document is
where. Don't waste time in finding documents. Your interview will not be
more than 2-3 minute because every officer has approx. 1000 students per
day.

Prepare all financial documents clearly showing total funds you have
(221-G).

Think of all possible questions may be asked to you with brief answers.

There are only two reasons of getting rejected:

1.You have not convinced officer that you will return back after
  education. (214-B)

2.You don't have funds to cover your expenses. (221-G)

Besides this there is no chance of getting rejected.

Always be true, it will work in your favor.

In case rejected for first time:

Do NOT go immed. after 3 working days. Take your time & find remedy of what
was wrong first time. Each officer will see only those things, which were
incomplete for the first time. So if rejected ASK REASON.

In case rejected for second time third chance is give to mail all your
documents without any interview. A personal letter is to be attached with
all documents.

Go for it,
All the best to you!
